In our days it is common for the media to show huge popular manifestations happening in different parts of the world with people invading the streets of their cities forming gigantic marches of protests. This dramatic situation is not uncommon to us in South Africa as much to often protests and looting also happens.
Surely there are many reasons for these mobilizations but at the root of all of them is the old injustice that many live with nothing while few live with all. This imbalance generates strong dissatisfaction from people with their government leaders’ passiveness to correct it.
Sadly, some opportunists with malicious intentions always take advantage from this type of situations to disrupt the pacific protests and terrify the innocent people by looting and burning down the commerce. When we live this kind of social convulsion our being naturally gets filed with anxiety and fear.
- When does social situations frightens you?
- Which battles do you need God to help you face?

Dear Commissioner,
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us that in every situation "Jehovah is our peace (shalom)". May God continue to bless your life, family and ministry.
Thank you Maruilson! Yes, Jehovah is our peace!
DeleteFor how would we know peace unless we pass through the shadow of death... then we realize His stuff and rod do lead us through.
ReplyDeleteTrue, the negative situations make us recognize the positive ones, and Jehovah leads us through all of them!
DeleteCommissioner, it’s so sad that looting is another pandemic after corruption. Covid-19 ‘the main pandemic’ created a mess in our lives and livelihoods. Sadly others saw an opportunity of becoming rich while we suffer. If these devious people can be exposed I feel it will be better.
ReplyDeleteI once witnessed looting/corruption and reported it, guess what was said to me “oh you are a snitch” I was shocked hearing that coming from a leader!!!
So, these blogs I appreciate them and pray they will bring change in how we do things.
Although they open old wounds, to think that today some of us are financially struggling because of those selfish and greedy people.
God bless you as you continue to preach His word and encouraging transparency and accountability.
We’re behind you all the way man of God!!!
The price we pay for reflecting light is to expose the darkness. Let us continue to falow the light of the world despite the consequences.
DeleteI pray God will help me overcome the hurts caused by looting!
ReplyDeleteIt’s so frightening when you try to fix things only to find you’re dealing with wrong people. You end up keeping quiet cos you fearing for your life!!!
True, exposing the darkness can be very frightening but God can give us the courage to always do what is right!
