There has probably been occasions when we’ve had the opportunity to observe the comic situation when little children insist denying having done something wrong. For example, when they go ahead and eat a piece of the cake that was for another occasion. Even with traces of chocolate in their teeth and lips, they deny it suggesting that maybe someone else did it.
One realizes that since very young age, the human being has the tendency to dissimulate its wrong doings and to blame others. This characteristic sadly increases as we grow and reveals the human sinful nature that we have. Like the children, we adults also try to disguise our stumbles and to seek someone to blame.
The main target of our complaints as believers is the Devil. However, despite the fact that he exists to make us fall, we cannot blame him for the negative consequences of our own decisions. The Devil will always seek to lead us astray, but decision to follow his way is ours. Poor Devil, many times he gets wrongly blame for the guilt that is totally ours.
The reality is that besides learning to fight against the Devil schemes, we must learn to deal with our own sinfulness. The only healthy way to overcome our sinful nature is to feed our new nature made available to us by Jesus Christ on the cross. In Jesus’ sacrifice there is provision for all!
How sad if we as adults wouldn't be able to show our teeth afraid to reveal inappropriate cake bites, remaining with the biter taste of sin in our mouth instead of the freshness of clean teeth. With Jesus our smile can reveal the holiness glow without traces of uncleanliness.
- Which impurities does your old self smile reveals?
- Which glow does your new self smile in Christ reveals?
(Inborn sinfulness,
James 1:14-15 / New live in Christ, Ephesians 4:22-24)
I can't agree more with you Commissioner, There is a saying that says ( Talk is cheap) I have seen Christians who are dynamic but don't walk the talk. Oh God help me, when I smile, let it be real and not just pretending 😅 😬
ReplyDeleteWe cannot control how others will behave. But we can control our own behavior as we surrender to the lorship of Christ.
DeleteI totally agree with you Commissioner, what God already knows... and sees.
ReplyDeleteYes, God knows and sees all. Our challenge is to allow Him to influence the way we interact with each other.
DeletePushing the buck or blame game is what I have also seen even in mature Christians. This issue of blame game if not controlled May become a kind of pride which the bible always talks against. It’s better to admit when we are at fault and we humble ourselves as God gives grace to Humble. Muito Abrigado…
ReplyDeleteTrue, it is better to recognize our own mistakes and appologized for it! If we don't we become at risk to repeat them.
